Google brings three new “Tabs” to Chrome

Google in September 2024 just released three updates to the “Tabs” settings on the Chrome application to improve the user experience of its search application.

Quoted from a GizmoChina report, Thursday (19/9), one of the main features that received an increase is the Chrome tab grouping function on iOS.

Previously, users who could use this feature were only for those using Android or the desktop version.

Google could bring “drag – and-drop” feature to Chrome for Android

Now a similar feature is also coming to devices with iOS both for iPhone and iPad.

To do Chrome tab grouping on iOS it’s easy to open several tabs, then long press on one of the tabs and later the “Add Tab to New Group” option will appear.

After finally being grouped, the user can also adjust the position of each tab as the user likes.

The second update of Chrome is the Group Tab that syncs automatically across different devices.

Regardless of where the user is using Chrome be it from a desktop computer, Android phone, or iPhone. Later users who log in with the same account can open tabs from various devices without disconnecting even from different devices.

For example, users initially search for a list of destinations for vacation activities through their smart phones, but it feels like searching on a smart phone is not enough.

Finally the user decides to search on the laptop, and when using the same Google account on Chrome on the laptop then easily later the search on the smart phone will automatically be present on the user’s laptop without the need to manually reopen it one by one.

The last update from Google was the provision of suggestions to reopen websites previously opened for search.

Google is currently testing a new feature that intelligently suggests web pages that users may want to revisit.

Basically, Chrome analyzes the tabs that have been opened on one device and will give suggestions for opening similar websites on the user’s other device.

For example, Chrome might suggest opening the same news website a user is reading on their work computer and the suggestion might appear on the user’s smartphone.

The last two features mentioned are intended for users who frequently use multiple devices throughout the day.

No more creating bookmarks or frantically searching history – just rely on the revisit suggestions Chrome gives you to pick up where you left off.
